Japan has since years been the cell phone wonderland. We all looked with envy at the over featured cellphones (TV, high camera resolutions, video conferencing, payment, Japanese consumers could get their hands on. Things have changed. Somehow Japan has missed the 'App Phone' trend and is now starting to catch up with the iPhone.
A new report from MMRI (via Electronista) says that the iPhone dominates the Japanese smart phones market with a share of 72.2%.
In the overall cell phone market Apple is still far behind Sharp, Panasonic and NEC. I think the Japanese consumer is prone to also fall for the vast iPhone Apps Wonderland and iPhone adoption will continue to rise.
